“ADC GENOTYPE IS AA” — Lauretta Onochie Predicts Tinubu Will Not Produce Nigeria’s Next President in 2027
*Says “Relax Nigerians! We are in charge. We are in charge”

“We have an A+ Team. We have invested our support in two Nigerians with proven heritage, proven identity, proven history of education, proven states of origin, proven sources of wealth, and proven track records of performance and service delivery.”
Former Chairman of the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Lauretta Onochie, popularly known as “Mama Due Process,” has stirred political debate ahead of the 2027 general elections with a bold endorsement of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its presidential candidate, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

In a strongly worded political statement, the former presidential media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari coined a campaign slogan around Atiku Abubakar’s initials, declaring that the “ADC genotype is AA” and describing the opposition coalition as an “A+ Team” prepared to take over leadership of the country in 2027.
Onochie expressed confidence that the ADC would emerge victorious in the next presidential election, arguing that the party has assembled credible leaders whose identities, educational backgrounds, family histories, states of origin, and sources of wealth are publicly known and verifiable.
Addressing supporters and Nigerians at large, she declared:
“Relax Nigerians! We are in charge. We are in charge.”
She referenced recent legal developments involving the ADC, praising what she described as judicial support for truth and due process.
“Who ever thought that the Supreme Court of Nigeria will stand by the truth regarding ADC? Did anyone ever think that the whole nation, including the Court of Appeal, would rise up to speak in one voice against Peter Lifu’s unjust move to incapacitate ADC?” she asked.
The former NDDC board chairman maintained that her political camp would continue to pursue its objectives through lawful and constitutional means despite what she alleged were attempts by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to gain political advantage through questionable tactics.
According to Onochie, Nigeria’s democratic system has suffered from years of electoral misconduct, warning that opposition parties must not respond to alleged irregularities with similar actions.
“We will continue to stand by the rule of law and due process. It may seem that APC is shamefully winning now through crooked means, but sadly, we are regressing as a nation,” she stated.
She added that retaliation against perceived electoral malpractice would only worsen the country’s democratic challenges.
“Can we match them? Definitely yes. Should we match them? Absolutely no. If APC commits 40 percent crime and we retaliate with 55 percent crime, they then respond with 65 percent crime, to which we respond with 80 percent; in no time at all, Nigeria becomes a crime scene in terms of election malpractices. That’s how we got here. We must follow and respect our constitution.”
Onochie also launched a direct attack on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his expected re-election bid in 2027, expressing confidence that the ruling party would be defeated at the polls.
“For 2027, the victory has come too early. They are fielding again Tinubu, a rotten banana whose favourite hobby is taking delight in punishing Nigerians,” she said.
Questioning the level of enthusiasm surrounding a potential Tinubu re-election campaign, she asked rhetorically whether anyone had agreed to serve as his running mate.
“Has anyone agreed to be his running mate yet? No!” she declared.
In contrast, Onochie praised the ADC leadership and the candidates she supports, insisting that they possess proven records of public service and accountability.
“We have an A+ Team. We have invested our support in two Nigerians with proven heritage, proven identity, proven history of education, proven states of origin, proven sources of wealth, and proven track records of performance and service delivery.”
Reiterating her campaign theme, she concluded by declaring that the ADC’s political future is tied to Atiku Abubakar’s initials.
“The ADC genotype is AA. Perfect genes! Come with us to 2027. Let’s celebrate another victory for all Nigerians.”
She ended her remarks with a call for national unity, saying: “God bless Nigeria.”
The statement has generated reactions across political circles, with supporters of the ADC hailing Onochie’s confidence in the opposition coalition, while critics have dismissed her comments as partisan rhetoric ahead of what is expected to be a fiercely contested 2027 presidential election.
