Zamfara Govt to spend over N700m on collapsed bridges, roads – Dosara

The Zamfara State Government has revealed its plan to spend over N700 million for the reconstruction of broken down bridges and culverts, as well as provisions of access road to Army Cantonment Primary School in Gusau, the state capital.

This was disclosed by the state Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Alhaji Abdullahi Gubin Bore, while flagging off the construction of access road to primary school in the Army Barracks, Gusau.

He said the road, which is about 500 metres, will be easily accessible to both students and teachers as well as visitors to the school, when completed.

He assured people of the barracks of speedy and timely completion of the road project.

The Commissioner further said that he had directed his ministry, through direct labour, to immediately effect repairs and reconstruction of bridges and culverts across, which collapsed due to heavy rain downpour experienced in the state.

When fixed across the state, the bridges and other culverts will make easier for people to access their communities.

He said several communities, towns and villages were cut off as a result of the collapsed bridges.

Alhaji Gubin Bore listed some of the bridges to be fixed to include Bardoki/Gayari in Gummi Local Government, Gurusu/Nasarawar Burkullu in Bukkuyum Local Government, Ruwan Bore in Talata Mafara Local governyment as well as Dansadau in Maru Local Government.

He called on the people to always support government policies aimed at alleviating their sufferings as cardinal principles of Governor Bello Matawalle
