Umo Eno’s PDP wins 30 seats, as Akpabio’s APC wins 1 in Akwa Ibom LG elections
The state electoral commission, which released the results of the October 5 LG poll, also indicated that the APC won one LGA.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won 30 of the 31 local government chairmanship seats in the October 5, 2024 LG election in Akwa Ibom State.
The Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission (AKISIEC) made this known on Sunday October 6, 2024.
The State Electoral Commission, which released results of the October 5 Local Government elections, also indicated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) won one local Government Area.
The DEFENDER reports that figures in the state involved include Governor Umo Bassey Eno, who is leader of PDP in the state and national leader by virtue of his recent election as Vice Chairman of tge PDP Governors Forum. The other being the Nigeria’s number three citizen, Senate President God’swill Akpabio, who is leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Following the successful conduct of the election, all is now set for elected Chairmen and Vice Chairmen to be sworn in on Monday October 7, 2024, by 8 am at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, in the State capital.

The statement indicated that Governor Umo Eno would perform the function in the presence of guests.
