Concerned Nigerians have continued to react angrily to the recent comments of the Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwunma Soludo against the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi.

A coalition of support groups from the Middle Belt, South East, South South and South West geopolitical zones joined the dispute by  condemning the alleged negative comments made by the Anambra State Governor, describing the remarks as disgraceful.

The group, which declared open support for the candidacy of the Labour Party Presidential Candidate Peter Obi., urged Nigerians to discountenance the observations of the Anambra governor and vote massively for the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections.

Addressing a press conference at the Press Hall of the Nigeria Union of Journalists [NUJ] in Abuja, the spokesman of the group, Olisa Uzoewulu (Wulus) said the group was highly disappointed by the attitude of the Anambra governor, “who obviously envies the rising profile of a star and decided to bring him down for no just cause.”

“We are here to say collectively that we have to take back our country from people who have deceived us for too long. We have now realized that the experience many of them were claiming has not brought us anything useful and therefore the so-called experienced politicians that are being paraded can be described as useless.

“These same set of people who are in two parties that are the same in character and nature are now using a governor to run down our candidate and we have to say that enough is enough. Soludo has insulted Nigeria and Nigerians with his remarks on Peter Obi and we would not allow that to continue.

“If the governor believes that Peter Obi did not do enough to develop Anambra state, he now has the opportunity as a professor to do more for the state and its people by providing infrastructure and development rather than wasting precious time criticizing someone who has done nothing to deserve the attacks,” Uzoewulu said.

He expressed optimism that the Labour Party candidate will win the presidential election stressing that with the support of the youth population, there will be no bandwagon effect in the 2023 general elections and the Labour Party will come out victorious.

“Nigerians are tired of the blame games of the APC and the infighting in the PDP which has not been able to put its house in order. The youths and the people are behind the rising profile of the Labour Party candidate because people want change and improvement in the way they are governed.

“Those predicting failure for the Labour Party and Peter Obi are ignorant and do not understand the changing dynamics of politics. The youths will use the power of the ballot box to make a difference in the general elections,” he stated.

He debunked the claims from some quarters that Peter Obi fraternises   with the Indigenous People of Biafra [IPOB] declaring that such claims were baseless.

Wulus also urged Nigerians, who have not collected their permanent voters cards [PVCs], to do so as soon as possible pointing out that with less than 100 days to the general elections, there could be a rush and congestion at collection points should people decide to wait longer before collecting their cards.
