Delta CP presents N33.3m IGP’s cheques to families of deceased officers

The Delta State Commissioner of Police,  CP Wale Abass, has officially presented cheques worth N33,275,840 to families of officers, who died in the course of duty.

CP Abass, according to our correspindent who was on ground during the brief ceremony of presentation in his office in Asaba,made the presentation Thursday June 9 on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman.

“The cheques issued on behalf of the IGP are parts of the Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident, and IGP Family Welfare Insurance Schemes” gesture to the late officers.

While presenting the cheques, the CP appreciated the gesture by the IGP as the cheques will in no small way serve as a boost to the families and also as a way of letting them know that, though their loved ones are no more, the force did not forget their sacrifices.

One of the beneficiaries in her remark, on behalf of others, appreciated the Inspector General of Police for the gesture shown to them and assured that the money will be spent judiciously.
