Sad…Coronavirus finally makes Sokoto member state in cases
The deadly coronavirus finally makes its presence in Sokoto as one of 38 new cases that hit Nigeria Monday is from there.
Governor of the Seat of Caliphate, Dr. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, reportedly confirmed this new development on Monday even as one of our sources said there was no cause for alarm therefrom.
Long before the new case, Governor Tambuwal never rested in his oars as he did everything possible in ensuring that even if there is any such case, there would be facilities on ground to arrest it before it gets out of hand.
It was the first case to be recorded by Sokoto since the outbreak of the deadly pandemic.
The governor also revealed that the patient is receiving treatment at the Usmanu Danfodio Teaching Hospital in Sokoto City.
Currently, Nigeria has 665 confirmed cases of coronavirus, with Lagos as the epicentre, having 376 confirmed cases.
So far, 188 people have been treated and discharged while 22 deaths have been recorded.
