By IBRAHIM KANOMA,
Yari urged the clerics to back government initiatives designed to address insecurity, particularly by offering continuous prayers for peace and stability in Zamfara State and across the country.
Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, representing Zamfara North Senatorial District, has called on Islamic clerics to intensify prayers for an end to insecurity in Nigeria, with particular focus on Zamfara State.

The appeal was made during a meeting with chief imams of Jumu’ah mosques and Islamic scholars at his country home in Talata Mafara.
The senator emphasized the critical role of religious leaders in influencing grassroots communities, noting their close interaction with the public across various aspects of daily life.
He stressed that sustained prayers are necessary, given the dedication of Islamic scholars to religious service and their position as community leaders. According to him, clerics serve not only as teachers and role models but also as key mobilisers capable of encouraging public support for government policies aimed at easing hardship.
Yari urged the clerics to back government initiatives designed to address insecurity, particularly by offering continuous prayers for peace and stability in Zamfara State and across the country.
He further noted that recent stakeholder meetings in the state were convened to find lasting solutions to banditry and other security challenges, with the goal of restoring normalcy and enabling farmers to return to their fields.
The senator added that the success of these efforts, including outcomes from the meetings, requires sustained prayers and divine intervention.
