“Governor Fubara’s predecessor said the IGR of Rivers was N13 billion every month, Siminalayi Fubara said no, what we receive monthly is about N28 billion. So it is all about the treasury.”
Opunabo Inko Tariah, a former aide to ex-Governor Nyesom Wike, said the political crisis in Rivers State is mainly about the state’s treasury.

Inko Tariah said Governor Siminalayi Fubara had not borrowed any money since taking office, yet executed 54 major projects.
He said the sole administrator of the state, Ibas, also confirmed that the projects were well funded and properly executed.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Silverbird TV, Mr. Opunabo Inko Tariah said Governor Fubara revealed the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) is actually about N28 billion every month, as against the N13 billion previously claimed by his predecessor, Wike, the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor that not only delivered Rivers State to Bola Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress (APC) but has since been working for its re-election in 2027 as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
In Inko Tariah’s words, “This is a governor that has not borrowed a kobo. They met over N200 billion in our account.
