Von Batten seeks service of summons, complaint on Sahara Reporters, Bello
“We are now attempting to have the court summons and complaint served on @SaharaReporters and Ademola Bello,” Von Batten-Montague-York posted.
Von Batten-Montague-York has said efforts are underway to serve Sahara Reporters and Ademola Bello with a summons and complaint in a defamation lawsuit filed before a United States federal court.
In a post, Von Batten-Montague-York appealed to the registered agent or representatives of Sahara Reporters and Bello not to evade service of the court documents.
The statement said the prompt acceptance of the summons and complaint would enable the federal court process to proceed and allow any preliminary procedural issues to be addressed.
“We are now attempting to have the court summons and complaint served on @SaharaReporters and Ademola Bello,” Von Batten-Montague-York posted.
“We ask Sahara Reporters’ registered agent/representatives and Ademola Bello to kindly not attempt to avoid service.”
The post added that, regardless of how service proceeds, the plaintiffs were prepared to continue with the case and were looking forward to the discovery stage.
The development follows the filing of a $26 million defamation suit by Dr. Von Batten against Sahara Reporters Media Group, Inc. and Bello at the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
