Premises of Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) Awada, Onitsha station was on Monday morning attacked by suspected Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) terrorists.

Operating in cover-up inscription – ‘unknown gunmen’ – to justify their media denial of the atrocities as they commit them and, sadly, supported by some media practitioners sympathetic with them, the IPOB terrorists in the latest attack reportedly stormed the station around 2.15am, burning a building and two vehicles, comprising company bus and another vehicle belonging to a staff who had worked overnight.

Although no life was lost in the attack, it was gathered that the theorists brutalised the staff they met on ground, inflicting injuries on them.

A staff at the station, who pleaded anonymity, said he witnessed the attack, having worked all night.

He said: “There was an attack. In fact, one of the gunmen ordered another to kill those present, but he refused and we were mercilessly flogged.

“Two vehicles were burnt, the Studio was equally touched, including a mattress belonging to one of the staff.”

When The DEFENDER called the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officers (PPRO), DSP Anthony Tochukwu Ikenganyia, on the telephone for his comment, he requested for a text message and his reply was yet to come as at the time of filing this report.
