The conferment of the award was performed by President General of the organization, Dr Mike Uyi, right on ground in Nigeria in the palace of the Fulani in Lagos, on Sunday July 14, 2024.

The DEFENDER checks revealed that the Global Peace Movement International UK had earlier, in a notification letter signed by its Media Officer Augustine Aminu, KSM, dated 5th June, 2024 addressed to ‘His Highness Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Bambado II, Sarkin Fulani of Lagos State, Nigeria’, nominated him for the unsolicited honour.

“On behalf of Global Peace Movement International, UK, it is my pleasure to inform you that due to your exceptional leadership qualities to your people and other Nigerians in general, you have been nominated for the prestigious INTERNATIONAL PEACE AWARD.

“Due to your exemplary leadership, we have seen significant growth and improvement in the overall functioning and representation of your people.

“Your exceptional leadership skills have not only inspired us at GPMI but also set a benchmark for others.

“Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition,” the organization said, making it seamlessly clear to Bambado II how administration of the award would be relocated to his palace in Lagos between 30 June, 2024 to 7 July, 2024.

As promised, the Global Peace Movement International UK moved all out from the United Kingdom to Nigeria and did as said.

In his remarks presenting the award to the Sarkin Fulani of Lagos on Sunday, the GPMI President General, Dr. Mike Uyi, said, “Today July 14th 2024, the Global Peace Movement International, UK, presented His Highness Alh (Dr.) Mohammed Abubakar Bambado II, Sarkin Fulani of Lagos State with the prestigious INTERNATIONAL PEACE AWARD,” he said and read through the content of the nomination letter earlier sent in June to show that Bambado II’s award of honour did not just come but by merit.

Responding in his acceptance remarks, the Sarkin Fulani of Lagos, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Bambado II, showed his enthusiasm and limitless excitement as he was being honoured, not only with a prestigious award that is of international status but also, one that is founded on peace.

“I am deeply honoured to receive this award from the Global Peace Movement International. This recognition is a testament to the collective efforts of many individuals who share a vision for a more peaceful and harmonious world.

“I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Global Peace Movement International for this prestigious award and for your unwavering commitment to promoting global peace. Your work inspires and empowers so many of us to strive for positive change.
