Sultan of Sokoto to inaugurate 19 traditional title holders April 4

The Sultan of Sokoto and Sarki Musulumi of Nigeria, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has set Sunday, April 4, 2021 as date for his turbaning ceremony of 19 traditional title holders in the seat of Caliphate.
A document obtained from the Sultan’s Palace in Sokoto shows a list of the 19 new title holders among whom are former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, CON, who will be installed as Jekadan Sokoto, former Minister of State for Sports, Alhaji Yusuf Sulaiman, Dan Amar Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Bature, Dokajin Sokoto, Alhaji Mai-Akwai Mu’azu Lamido, Sarkin Gabas Sokoto and Permanent Secretary Sokoto State Ministry of Finance, Alhaji Dahiru Abbas, who will be installed as Sarkin Gandu Sokoto on the set date.
Also to be turbaned on the day are Alhaji Yusuf Abubakar lll, Cigarin Sokoto, Alhaji Hali Maccido, Dan Ruwatan Sokoto, Alhaji Mustafa Garba, Dan Darma, Chairman Board of Sokoto State Pilgrim Welfare Agency, Alhaji Muktar Bello Maigona, Zanna Sokoto, Alhaja Sada Muhammad Bello, Marafan ‘Yan Sarki, and Alhaji Namadina Abdulrahman, Talban Sokoto.
Alhaji Abubakar Dasuki, Dan Majen Sokoto, Alhaji Abba Dasuki, Durbin Sokoto, and a former Member of the Nigerian House of Representatives and Commissioner in the Sokoto State Executive Council, Hon Abdulsamad Dasuki, San Turaki, will be among the traditional title holders to be turbaned on the April 4 date along with Alhaji Faruk Ahmad Maishanu, Dan Madamin Sokoto, Alhaji Musa Bashar, Mayanan Sokoto, Alhaji Aminu Bala Sokoto, Dan-Iyan Sokoto, Prof. Ahmad Tijjani Mora, Kayayen Sarki Muslumu, and Alhaji Aminu Buhari Galadima, who will be turbaned as Dan Malikin Sokoto.
Each of the title holders will, however, be called after another in compliance with Covid-19 protocols, during the ceremony.
