Sowore faults AAC exclusion from Presidential Debate, as supporters Stage protest in Lagos
The Presidential Candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Mr.Omoyele Sowore, has described the action of the Nigerian Elections Debate Group(NEDG) excluding him from 2019 presidential election debate as faulty.
Sowore, who spoke at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja,on Thursday, said the group erred by not listing him as a presidentialcandidate to participate even as he insisted that his name and party must beallowed to participate.
That was as his took to town to protest their candidate’s exclusion from the presidential debate scheduled to hold onJanuary 19, 2019.
The Sowore’s supporters staged the protest on Thursday at the premises ofChannels Television, saying the exclusion of AAC from the debate was against the constitutional right of its candidate.
The protesters, therefore, demanded the inclusion of Sowore in the debate organised by the Nigerian Elections Debate Group (NEDG) and the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON).
The organisers had announced that five political parties would participatein the debate.
Those listed include Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Young Progressives Party (YPP).
