The Southern governors summit in Asaba, Delta State on Tuesday 11th May, 2021 may already have been rendered insignificant by the government leaders themselves as revealed by Senator Shehu Sani and Mr. Frank Ofili in their latest comments.

Whereas Senator Sani is not averse to their call for restructuring of the country, he is saying that they must begin charity they want to carry abroad from home.

“All Governors who believe in restructuring should start restructuring from the home front; by agreeing to the financial autonomy and independence for the Judiciary, State legislature and Local Governments,” Senator Shehu Sani said.

To Frank Ofili, the fact that the 17 governors of the South held such all-important meeting and failed to mention or condemn the serial attacks on security facilities and killing of security officers in South East of Nigeria is evidence to doubt their sincerity.

“Southern state governors met at Asaba and not a word of condemnation the targeted killing of security agents and burning of security facilities in the east? Yet they want state police. Curious,” Ofili said.

Governors Rotimi Akeredolu and Godwin Obaseki of Ondo and Edo states, respectively, were among others involved in the Submit.
