He further disclosed that the government of Dauda Lawal had already initiated a number of rescue projects spread across the 14 Local Government Areas in the state, which he said were aimed at bringing succour to the rural dwellers and boost their economic activities.

The Zamfara State Government has reiterated its earlier stand that it will not dialogue with bandits, adding that it is determined to face the criminal elements fire-for-fire.

This was disclosed by the state Deputy Governor, Malam Mani Mumuni, while speaking to journalists in his office after the reaffirmation of Dauda Lawal as the duly elected Governor of Zamfara State by the Supreme Court of Nigeria, on Friday January 12, 2024.

The second-in-command reiterated that the government was determined to face the bandits fire-for-fire until they were eliminated or chased out of the core Northern state for peace to reign in the state.

He further said the government of Dauda Lawal would not fold its arms and allow bandits terrorising the people by way of kidnapping, killings and vandalising their properties.

He said, “Currently there are over 4,000 community protection guards undergoing training with a view to protecting various communities in the state.”

He appealed to the good people of Zamfara State to support the government of Lawal-led administration in its policies and programmes, aimed at alleviating their sufferings.

He further disclosed that the government of Dauda Lawal had already initiated a number of rescue projects spread across the 14 Local Government Areas in the state, which he said were aimed at bringing succour to the rural dwellers and boost their economic activities.

Deputy Governor Mumuni called on the people to intensify their prayers for the government to succeed and thanked them for their prayers which, according to him, God had answered.

He then urged supporters to be law abiding while celebrating the Supreme Court victory as government would not condone any violence during the celebration.
