ONDO: ‘130 Krown Obas’ converges on Isinkan with state development on agenda

Four-year-old ‘130 Krown Obas’ in Ondo State begins his rotational meeting to be hosted by the Iralepo of Isinkan Land, Akure South Local Government Area, Oba Olugbemiga Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula, Arulewolasi III, today.

According to details from the Iralepo Palace, although the monarchs’ group shows 130, its membership has now grown to 150 traditional rulers who will arrive the ancient autonomous town this Wednesday for a special meeting known as Pelupelu.

The DEFENDER reports that the traditional rulers under the aegis of ‘130 Krown Obas’ meet regularly to discuss issues bothering on communities, state, national concerns and take positions.

According to the itinerary of the Obas, the body’s executive members will meet at Ayus Hotel, Ondo Road, Isinkan at 5pm on Wednesday 19th April, 2023.

The main event will take place at Ita Owa at the Palace of Iralepo of Isinkan, on Thursday 20th April, 2023 at 11am.

“The meeting is critical to us, it’s a place where we meet minds and take decisions on vital issues affecting our communities, state and Nigeria at large.

“We were 129 members before but with the implementation of Ajama reports of recognition and upgrading of some traditional rulers in the state, the membership has increased to over one hundred and fifty (150), an Oba said.

A statement by the Pelupelu’s host and and Iralepo of Isinkan, Oba Oluwagbemiga Olofin-Adimula, said all is set for successful hosting of the traditional rulers.

In the statement he said this week is the first time in history that his Isinkan kingdom will be playing host to array of Obas.

“For us in Isinkan, it is a thing of joy to host the traditional rulers. This will afford us the opportunity to discuss how to join hands with government to move the state to the next level.

“The meeting called “Pelupelu” in yorubaland is a good one, knowing full well that the traditional rulers are the closest to the people.

“I enjoined all Isinkan residents to give the Obas a rousing welcome and display their usual “Omoluabi” character,” it said.

Oba Olofin-Adimula wished the Obas fruitful deliberations enjoined them to go on a sight seeing of Isinkan Community.
