Is Atiku becoming a complicated product for Segun Showunmi to sell?
By Nnaemeka Ikerionwu
“The majority of people in the South West will hardly buy the Atiku product from him and the same with the Almajiris, Talakawas and Dan-Arewas who form the bulk of Northern voters. Segun Showunmi will not have any trouble marking his product in the South East and some part of South South. They hardly check or read manuals when purchasing any product. As long as the product packaging looks fine, quality is never part of their consideration.”
Segun Showunmi is the spokesman of the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation; an ace public affairs analyst and one time Special Assistant and Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel. He is sound, educated and I admire his communication skills.
The very first time I listened to him, I said in my mind that one day, I will be able to speak like this man. He appears good for the job, but there is a problem.
Segun Showunmi will be on the hot seat throughout the electioneering campaign trying to counter alleged criminal indictments against Atiku both home and abroad.
He will have little or no time telling Nigerians what Atiku will bring to the table and even when he brings it on, another corruption question will certainly pop up.
His major task will be in defense of money stealing allegations against his principal and that could be so damaging.
The majority of people in the South West will hardly buy the Atiku product from him and the same with the Almajiris, Talakawas and Dan-Arewas who form the bulk of Northern voters.

His other major obstacle will be on how to engage Mr. Festus Kayemo, a senior Advocate of Nigeria and also the Director of Media for the Buhari Campaign Organisation. It is very difficult to debate a man who has facts and figures.
You don’t write down your points to read out when debating such character like Segun Showunmi did on channels this morning (Monday October 15, 2018). I just feel that he should do more research on how to market a defective product because his product appears to be a hard sell.
In any case, that puts PMB (President Muhammadu Buhari) in advantage position. Love PMB or hate him, no one is marketing his person anymore. He is a concrete and confirmed product. A product we can all see and want to buy again and again.
I must say this, the same way it became difficult to win Ballon d’Or in Messi/Ronaldo era, it will be difficult to snatch the presidency away from PMB. This is PMB’s dispensation. Weather corrupt or not, I can’t tell, but Atiku should wait.
ATIKU LOST ON DAY 1…..
NICE SUBMISSION: Dino Melaye’s submission on the choice of Peter Obi as Atiku Abubakar’s running mate:
“There is nothing bad in Igbo becoming vice president or even President but don’t forget politics is a game of number, the plan to favour victory of PDP is to pick running mate from South west.
Already PDP will win almost all states of south east, because they will not vote Buhari as an individual, but south west is a battle ground for PDP and APC, they need to bring VP from South west to counter Osinbajo.
And they should not forget North west has the highest number of voters and Buhari is in charge of that zone followed by south west.
The total register voters of south east will be a little more than that of Lagos State alone, so all south east is not up to Lagos and Oyo state combine. Atiku is from North east and Obi from South east, mean while North east and South east has d lowest numbers of registered voters that means the president and vice are coming from area where the register voters is the lowest”.
2019 will be interest!
2019 will be so interesting. They said Atiku will divide Buhari vote and i ask why? See wicked campaign style in the north. These people have no respect for our best product down East.
