IGP appoints CSP Iniedu Okokon as new Force PRO, redeploys DCP Placid to Lagos

During her eight-month tenure as the fourth head of the unit, CSP Iniedu was credited with implementing reforms aimed at addressing police misconduct and enhancing responsiveness to public complaints, contributing to improved trust between the police and citizens.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has appointed Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Iniedu Aniette Okokon as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) of the Nigeria Police Force.
Prior to her appointment, CSP Iniedu served as the Head of the Police Complaint Response Unit (CRU) at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, where she earned recognition for her efforts in strengthening police accountability and improving public confidence in the Force.
Her appointment has attracted widespread congratulations from stakeholders across the country. However, it has also elicited mixed reactions among members of the public and accountability advocates, many of whom have praised her performance at the CRU.

Meanwhile, the outgoing Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Anthony Okon Placid, has been redeployed to the Lagos State Police Command as part of the latest postings approved by the Inspector-General of Police.
