Hundeyin criticises “Nigerian media” for twisting CSU released Tinubu’s documents

*Clears all doubts about his investigated reports, posted CSU released documents

*Others react on X

By OUR REPORTER

Nigerian investigative journalist, Mr. David Hundeyin, has expressed concerns that some lical newspapers have taken it upon themselves to twist headlines in favour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu since Chicago State University released his academic records on the order of court since Monday night.

Description of image

Hundeyin, who recently cried to United Nations General Assembly (UNGA78) alleging that Tinubu was planning to abduct him from his Ghana home for exposing his Chicago academic matters, was reacted via his X handle Tuesday morning.

He specifically said, “Nigerian brown envelope media repeating “Authenticates” in the uniform headline that Dele Alake dictated to them.”

The DEFENDER reports that the control of what is truth lies between three parties: the man at the centre of controversy, Bola Tinubu, Chicago State University and Atiku Abubakar with the main investigative journalist committed to the project being David Hundeyin.

Hundeyin’s coverage of the release process as it happened in US Momday was followed via his X handle by this online newspaper to the point he claimed Tinubu’s lawyers approached three courts to, again, appeal the Saturday appeal ruling but failed.

He was further followed to the point he claimed that CSU authorities had handed over the Tinubu’s documents to lawyers of the plaintiff, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and how they had to take their time to first sort out what were given to them to know if they tallied with what their client requested to be supplied through the courts.

It was also the same David Hundeyin, who served as swinging door between the happenings in the US court and anxiously anticipating Nigerian media, that broke the news that was later reported as ‘Chicago State University finally releases Tinubu’s Documents to Atiku’.

It will be recalled that those local online media, when some few online newspapers (including The DEFENDER) were feeding Nigerians with reports of proceeding in the US courts from start, had chose to play the ‘conspiracy of silence’ by either avoiding reportage or under-reporting the leaving the public divided between believing what was being reported to them looking citing the aloof of certain media.

Hundeyin broke the news Monday night with few copies from the CSU released 32-page document showing discrepancies about gender, age, disciplines of the president.

Without long, some Nigerian online media (excluding The DEFENDER) came up with different headlines that became syndicated among others in their group claiming that CSU “Authenticates” certificate Tinubu submitted to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and David Hundeyin sparked.

The investigative journalist lashed at his journalism colleagues who chose to mislead innocent and vulnerable Nigerian consumers with no capacity to discriminate among supplied news of media.

He said, “Everyday I praise my ancestors that I’m not hungry. Hunger robs you of basic dignity and makes you act like a man like you is God.”

He added, “Also, Government College Lagos was founded in 1974, so whoever claimed to have graduated from there in 1970 was clearly lying.

“I reported all of this since November, by the way,” David Hundeyin said having earlier lambasted his a fellow journalist (name witheld) who he accused of not being “tired of this foolishness at your age? Aren’t you somebody’s grandfather by now?? Will you be stupid until you die?”

Clearing all doubts

Hundeying asked Nigerians to, “Focus on the documents released by CSU yesterday. Everything you need is inside there.

“Stop getting distracted by an obvious social media psy-op intended to lead you down an endless rabbit hole.

“Nothing concern you and any “social security number.”

In his comment to the post, @Spotlight_Abby said: “Bottom line: CSU could not authenticate Tinubu’s certificate submitted to INEC, could not produce a copy of his 1979 original bearing the correct logo, gave Mr. Enahoro a certificate bearing a futuristic logo and signatures under oath… It means, fake, faker, fakest! That’s all that concerns us.”

Further clarifying what the US court ordering Chicago State University release of Tinubu’s academic records means, @akabogu corroborated @Spotlight_Abby saying:

“In the deposition under oath of the CSU designee happening today;

“( 1)there will be an FBI profiler or a private investigator who equally doubles as a profiler in the room.

“(2) there will be a court appointed Stenographer court clerk in the room who will record, and swear in the CSU designee under oath.

“(3) there will be one CSU lawyer to witness events but offer no support or assistance to his client.

“(4) there will be Atiku’s lawyers who will have a boat load of questions for the designee which will help unravel these mysteries.”
