Ekpeye Youths in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State, on Tuesday, blocked the Ahoada West axis of the East-West Road, to protest against Agip Oil Company and one Mr Brown, who has surveillance contract with the company.
One of the youths said that “Mr Brown is not even from Ekpeye but from Abua LGA and has been tormenting them, burning their houses, bikes and killing their youths and raping their girls in the name of fighting illegal bunkering.”
According to them, Agip Oil Company is given seven days to remove the contract from the same man or face the revolt of the youths.
The Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Grace Woyengikuro Iringe-Koko, promised to get back to The DEFENDER, when she was called for her reaction to the development.
