Govt Property Vandalism: Lagos Task Force apprehends miscreants
Operatives of the Lagos State Task Force, on Monday, arrested eight miscreants vandalising its operational vehicle along Idi-Oro, Mushin Local Government Area, Lagos.
Chairman of the agency, Mr. Olayinka Egbeyemi, who is a superintendent of police (SP), disclosed this in a statement signed by the agency’s Head of Public Relations Unit, Mr. Adebayo Taofiq.
Egbeyemi said that the miscreants and hoodlums attacked the enforcement team of the Task Force and vandalised its operational vehicle.
Disclosing further, the SP Olayinka Egbeyemi said that the hoodlums formed the habit of attacking his enforcers with dangerous weapons such as broken-bottles, cutlasses, stones and Iron-rod while trying to enforce the Lagos State Road Traffic Law of 2012 around Akala and Idi-oro areas of Mushin.
The Lagos State Task Force boss, who hinted that the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni had directed that the suspects be immediately charged to court for prosecution, stated that activities of miscreants and hoodlums around Mushin area of the state had become worrisome and that no responsible and responsive government would fold its arms and allow innocent citizens subjected to their terrorist act.
Egbeyemi however advised miscreants across Lagos State “to turn a new leave and fit into the new developmental plans of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode or have themselves blamed for involvement in
criminal activities.”
