As Trump’s propaganda continues, reality on ground shows ‘national resistance’ shattered enemy dream of Iran’s collapse – Pezeshkian
Trump gave his usual bogus scream of saying his blockade of the Strait of Hormuz had pushed Iran to now wanting a deal, a claim that has also been thrown to mockery as it is contrary to what reality on ground in and around the country.
In what appears to be United States of America’s President Donald Trump untiring incoherence about situation reports he gives despite his country’s continued failures in its joint war with Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran, President Masoud Pezeshkian says the enemies’ dream of forcing the country to collapse did not come true as the Iranian nation displayed great “resistance and perseverance” during the imposed war.
President Pezeshkian made the remarks during a visit to the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development in Tehran on Monday April 13, 2026 even as Trump gave his usual bogus scream of saying his blockade of the Strait of Hormuz had pushed Iran to now wanting a deal, a claim that has also been thrown to mockery as it is contrary to what reality on ground in and around the country.
Highlighting the enemies’ hostility towards Iran, Pezeshkian said, “Their dream of a rapid collapse of Iran did not come true due to the nation’s resistance and perseverance.”
“The threat to target [Iran’s] infrastructure, more than anything, represents their frustration and inability to impose their will.”
Pezeshkian said during the illegal, imposed war, Iran held its ground against the enemies and defended its national interests within the framework of international law.
“The Islamic Republic does not have a greedy eye on other countries’ rights, but it will act decisively and powerfully in defending the inalienable rights of the nation,” he said.
The Iranian chief executive appreciated the sacrifices of the armed forces in the course of the US-Israeli aggression.
Relying on its defense power and national solidarity, the Islamic Republic will keep strong on the path of progress and solidify national dignity and pride more than ever, Pezeshkian said.
He also criticized certain self-proclaimed human rights organizations and their affiliated media for remaining silent on US-Israeli criminal attacks against civilian infrastructure, schools, health centers and relief institutions, while adopting biased position on Iran’s domestic issues.

Pezeshkian: Iranian negotiators defending national interests in Islamabad talks
The Iranian president says the country’s senior negotiators are bravely engaged in the talks with the US in Islamabad to defend national interests.
He said certain Persian-language media broadcast from abroad have not only distanced themselves from reality in critical junctures, but in some cases justified and incited violence against the Iranian nation.
The illegal US-Israeli aggression on Iran began on February 28 with airstrikes that assassinated senior Iranian officials and commanders.
Iran’s decisive response in the framework of Operation True Promise 4 included daily missile and drone operations targeting locations in the Israeli-occupied territories as well as US military bases and assets across the region.
Iran also blocked the Strait of Hormuz to oil and gas tankers affiliated with the adversaries and those cooperating with them to maintain security at the strategic waterway.
The US formally accepted Iran’s 10-point proposal on April 8 as the foundation for a permanent ceasefire.
On April 12, and due in large part to the excessive demands put on the table by the American side, Iranian and US delegations failed to reach an agreement after more than 20 hours of negotiations in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad.
