Iran responds to U.S. ceasefire proposal with broad demands
Iran knows full well these maximalist conditions will never be accepted, but in doing so they highlight the quagmire the U.S. and Zionists have found themselves in. In other words: “We currently control the battlefield, and have no need for your ceasefire.”
Iran has formally submitted its response, via Pakistan, to a reported U.S. proposal for a 45-day ceasefire amid ongoing regional tensions.
According to the response, Iran rejected the idea of a temporary ceasefire and instead outlined a series of conditions it says are necessary for a broader and lasting resolution.
Among the key demands:
* A permanent end to hostilities across all conflict zones in the Middle East, including Lebanon and Gaza, with binding guarantees.
* The removal of all U.S. military bases from the Persian Gulf region.
* A new transit framework recognizing Iran’s authority over the Strait of Hormuz, including the ability to impose transit fees.
* The lifting of all economic sanctions imposed on Iran.
* Formal recognition of Iran’s right to pursue peaceful uranium enrichment under international agreements, including the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and the United Nations Charter.
* Financial reparations for economic losses incurred during the conflict.
The U.S. proposal reportedly focused on a short-term, 45-day cessation of hostilities, while Iran’s response outlines more comprehensive geopolitical and economic conditions.
Analysts suggest the gap between the two positions highlights the difficulty of reaching a near-term agreement, as Iran’s proposals extend beyond an immediate ceasefire to include long-standing strategic and regional issues.
There has been no official response yet from U.S. authorities regarding Iran’s counterproposal.
