2023: Ex-Anambra Governor, Peter Obi, quits PDP membership

A presidential aspirant Peter Obi has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Obi, a former Anambra Governor, was until his resignation one of the 15 aspirants vying for the presidential ticket of the PDP.

The letter conveying his resignation from the party was submitted to the National Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu.

Obi’s resignation is not clear as to whether it also burying his ambition to be President of Nigeria or not.

The DEFENDER can, however, authoritatively, report that possibility for an Igbo presidency come 2023 is dicey with the terrorism activities of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN) going on.

Our checks revealed that with these sad events of IPOB/ESN, while having been listed as a terrorist organisation by court of competent court of jurisdiction, it will be difficult for any Nigerian to trust the South East with that most sensitive office of the President after Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure ends.
