Zamfara marks New Islamic Year with sober reflections

Zamfara State government celebrates New slamic Year 1445 A.H. with sober reflections on the persistent insecurity situation threatening the state over sometimes.

Muslims across the world celebrate the new year on Muharram 1 every Islamic calendar year to mark the Hijrah of Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from Makkah to Madinah.

In Zamfara State government marks the Islamic new year with public lecture and public holiday.

This year, it marked the occasion with the launch of 1445 Islamic Calendar and lectures by renowned Islamic scholars,  who spoke on security situation of the state and the way forward.

The guest speaker at the occasion, Professor Salisu Abubakar of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU, blamed insincere approach to issues of security by both government and members of the public to be responsible for the unabated security threat in the state.

He said if the state is sincere in the bid to tackle insecurity, “there is need for honest, sincere approach from the government, social and corporate organisations as well as every citizen of the state.”

The professor stressed that every body must cultivate the fear of Allah in his approach to handling the situation rather than exploring the situation to derive personal benefit.

Other scholars who gave similar contribution include renown scholars like Dr. Ahmad Umar Kanoma and shielk Aminu Aliyu Gusau

In his speech at the occasion, the state deputy governor Malam Mani Mumini who was represented by the Head of service Brr. Ahmad Liman said the new administration of governor Dauda Lawan is set for committed, sincere approach towards restoring peace in the state.
