The Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Mohammed Bello Matawalle, has announced the sum of N50 million to victims of the recent Central Market in Sokoto, Sokoto State.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Zailai Bappa, obtained by The DEFENDER in Gusau.

Governor Mutawalle, who visited the site of the inferno in company of his Sokoto State counterpart and Mutawalle Sokoto, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the Zamfara State governor said his concern over the incident was imperative being that whatever affects the people of Sokoto affects the people of Zamfara.

He said he was unable to visit the victims last week due to the security situation arising in Zamfara at the time.

He, however, prayed to Allah to give the victims the heart to bear the losses.
