Yusuf Adepoju Breaks Silence, Says Invocation of His Name Has Drawn Him Into Tani Olohun Matter

Mallam Yusuf Adepoju, who described himself as a prospective complainant against Tani Olohun, has broken his silence over an unfolding matter involving the latter, declaring that he is no longer a spectator after his name was allegedly invoked in a statement issued on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
Adepoju said he had deliberately maintained what he described as a dignified silence over the matter, choosing not to make public comments while events unfolded.
According to him, he had observed the developments from a distance and deliberately opted for restraint rather than public commentary.
However, he said his position changed after his attention was drawn to a statement allegedly made by Tani Olohun on August 26, in which Adepoju’s name was expressly mentioned in connection with the matter.
Adepoju argued that the reference to his name had effectively drawn him into an issue in which he had previously maintained no public involvement.
He said that if his name had been used as part of the narrative, justification or defence surrounding the matter, he was now entitled to participate fully, subject to what he described as the dictates of truth, fairness and the law.
“My attention has been drawn to a statement made by ‘Tani Olohun’ today, 26th August 2026, in which my name was expressly invoked in an attempt to justify his defence, and, by implication, to draw me into a matter in which I had hitherto maintained no public involvement,” Adepoju said.
He added that the invocation of his name had changed his status from that of an observer to an active participant in the matter.
“By mentioning my name in connection with this matter, I have effectively been invited into it, and I hereby acknowledge the invitation. I’m therefore no longer a silent observer or a distant spectator,” he said.
Adepoju further stated that he reserved the right to become fully involved in the matter if his name continued to feature in the claims or defence surrounding it.
“If my name has been deployed as part of the narrative, justification, or defence surrounding this matter, then, I reserve the right now to be fully committed to the matter, subject to the dictates of truth, fairness, and the law,” he stated.
In a strongly worded conclusion, Adepoju directly addressed Tani Olohun, thanking him for what he described as an invitation into the matter and declaring that he had now become involved.
“Tani Olohun, thank you for inviting me into your matter. You have made me a party to it. I am now involved!” he said.
He ended the statement with the Yoruba expression, “Tani Olohun, O KÚU ÀM’ÓJÚBÀ MI. ÀSÌKÒ TÓ WÀYÍ Ò !!”
Adepoju signed the statement as “Prospective Complainant Against Taa’ni Ọlọhun” and dated it August 26, 2026.
The statement did not provide further details of the underlying dispute or specify the legal action Adepoju intends to pursue. His comments, however, indicate that he intends to take a more active role in the matter following the reference to his name.
