Senate President Lawan says Tinubu’s APC candidacy sure way to victory 2023

The President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmad Lawan, following the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Wednesday, reassured the ruling party of winning the 2023 presidential poll.

Lawan had been reportedly announced as the consensus candidate of the APC by the party National Chairman, Senator Adamu Abdullahi, eliciting various reactions as 11 Northern governors rejected the move, saying they stand on the path of equity, justice and fairness.

But, In a letter of congratulation the Senate President personally signed, Lawan who was also an aspirant in the primary, scoring 152 votes to come fourth, said the outcome of the election process had shown that Tinubu was the popular choice of his party.
