The Governor of Sokoto State, North West Nigeria, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has said indigenes of the state remain the peaceful and accommodating people that they are known to be.

He said this while addressing members of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), who visited him in Government House Sokoto to celebrate Eid-el-Adha with him, on Saturday.

The Governor, on whom praises were showered by the corpers for his brilliant performances and accommodating spirit towards visitors and other Nigerians living in the state, said they should go about their activities without fear as the state remains what it has always been, receptive by nature.

We don’t discriminate against other Nigerians in Sokoto State. Don’t listen to people who do not believe in Nigeria.

“So be peaceful because, God that put Nigeria together as a country does not make mistake,” he said.

Governor Tambuwal appealed to all Nigerians to be calm as whatever untoward situation the nation is passing through today will pass away and, according to him, Nigeria will be better and great again.

Tambuwal, on occasion of Sallah like this, gives corpers in the state cow and good money, this year’s is also not an exception.

A corper, who did not mention his name, told The DEFENDER after the event that “Governor Tambuwal is a governor of Nigeria that I have seen that does not carry himself as big personality that he is but always wants to identify with other people in the streets. We, the youth corpers serving in Sokoto are a good example of such people he is good to,” he said.
