*US Governors slam Trump’s call to ‘liberate’ states

Barely 24 hours after The DEFENDER reported a rejoinder article from a Chinese author, which not only denied U.S. President Donald Trump’s accusation of Beijing as originator of coronavirus pandemic but also told why any country that had delayed or dragged legs in taking action when the disease outbreak occurred has exponential increases, more saddening news are coming from America and now the entire Europe.

The updates now are that deaths in the United States alone have jumped to 41,114 with infections rising to 770,564 but recoveries 70,799.

Europe in its entirety has surpassed 100,000 coronavirus deaths across the continent on Sunday, according to a Johns Hopkins University tally. Italy continues to hold the highest European death toll, followed by Spain, France and the United Kingdom.

Globally, infections have hit  2,404,325, recoveries 624,798 and deaths 165,238.

In the meantime, in the United States, governors across the country criticized President Donald Trump’s expression of solidarity with those protesting various state-issued stay-at-home orders, saying his comments are “dangerous” and “don’t make any sense.”

Democratic and Republican governors pushed back Sunday on President Donald Trump’s tweets to “liberate” some states where people protested social distancing measures enacted to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

“I don’t know any other way to characterize it,” Gov. Jay Inslee, D-Wash. said on ABC News, expressing disbelief at seeing the “president of the United States basically encourage insubordination” against laws that are “designed to protect people’s health.”

“It is dangerous because it can inspire people to ignore things that actually can save their lives,” Inslee said.
