Unilorin holds 33rd convocation Oct. 21, with book presentation in honour of outgoing VC Ambali

*Oxford University Professor to give convocation lecture

The DEFENDER has gathered from sources that the prestigious University of Ilorin will hold its 33rd Convocation on October 21, this year.

The sources quoted the Registrar of the institution, Mr. Dada Emmanuel, to have said.

According to the sources, the registrar in a statement on Friday in Ilorin said the convocation would include the award of Degrees and Diplomas as well as prizes to deserving graduates.

Notably of this year’s graduation is the fact that son of Tajudeen Kareem, former Chief Press Secretary to Kwara State Governor, during the Administration of Dr. Bukola Saraki, Kashif Abdulkareem, whose mother, Fatimah, was President of Nigeria’s National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), will graduate.

Kashif Abdulkareem studied Economics in the institution that for decades has placed premium not only on academic brilliancy but also moral excellence towards the making of Godfearing leaders for better Nigeria.

According to the Unilorin Registrar, other events for the convocation, including a book presentation in honour of the out-going Vice-Chancellor , Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, would commence from October 13.

He said the convocation lecture on the topic, “The Genius in You: New Tools Techniques and Technology for Developing the Individual and Institutional Greatness,” would be delivered by Prof. Chris Imafidon of Oxford University, United Kingdom.
