Trouble for protesters as #EndSARS hashtag starter, Awosanya, withdraws says Buhari’s response settles movement
Human rights activist, Segun Awosanya, popularly known as Segalink has withdrawn from the ongoing #EndSARS protest, saying the movement has been hijacked.
He tweeted: “All efforts to talk sense into the arrowheads, who are mostly abroad and the few in their high estates have proven abortive. I believe everyone is matured enough to face the consequences of their actions.”
He added in an interview: “Staging coordinated attacks on prominent reform advocates and then using a credible advocacy’s campaign to raise funds through an unregistered NGO, threatening the integrity of our nation and gunning for youth insurrection in the name of #EndSARS. Is this even sane?”
The activist called for the protest to end since the government has asked for time to implement their demands and added that the advocacy continues till the police is reformed.
The DEFENDER reports that #ENDSARS was seen as good opportunity long awaited by elements of destabilization trying at different times to cause confusion in order that remove President Muhammadu Buhari, a democratically elected leader, from office through undemocratic means.
It was also gathered that the elements, since 24 hours after the May 29, 2015 that President Buhari took over power from the Peoples Democratic Party’s President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, have never for once given him a breathing space as they have caused one confusion or another with intent to collapse his administration.
Their confusion, it was further gathered, started from militants self-destructions of Niger Delta based refineries and other oil installations, Benue killings tagged against herdsmen and report of which they took to the President of United States Donald Trump for which he had asked visiting President Buhari what has continued to be described as ‘mischievous question’, “Why are you killing Christians of Nigeria?”
