Trouble for Festus Adedayo as his Tribune write-ups against Buhari compiled

By Our Correspondents

Some faithful of Buharism political ideology who had seen Senator Lawan more as Bola Tinubu’s project than Buhari’s are saying with Adedayo’s appointment, despite his clear affront to the President and APC government, that it was Tinubu’s beginning of his own thing strategizing for 2023.

Although all appear to be intact for former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Former Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi, in the person of Dr. Festus Adedayo despite controversies trailing his appointment as Spokesman to Senate President Ahmed Lawan, yet to be confirmed scoops have it that it may be far from being Uhuru for the Tribune Newspaper Editorial Board Member as his anti-Buhari articles in the paper are being compiled.

The fear of people closer to Adedayo starts from the standpoint of the fact that President Muhammadu Buhari had promised his campaign group headed by Director-General of Customs, Colonel Hameed Ali, that in his and the APC’s  second term the supporters will be appreciated with appointments as against what happened in the first term where people of opposition party filled the APC Government and who sabotaged its achievements.

And remembering how Saraki’s worked with an anti-Buhari Chief of Staff as a starter for his eventual sabotage of government, they are now jiltery that, except it does not matter to Buhari and any such party high ranking members like Senate President Ahmed Lawan to jilt those who risked their lives and economies to re-elect them into government, Adedayo’s appointment may be reversed.

Another sympathiser who spoke from Akure, Ondo State home of the journalist already wanted that if replacement would be inevitable, it should be from Akure as, according to the source, it will be in fulfillment of promise made to the ancient community that its sons and daughters would be appointed into Federal offices.

Festus Adedayo is considered to have to his credit, a great number of column articles with which he basically, and negatively too, aimed at deriding President Buhari especially the one which talked about the road to Buhari’s emergence.

One of them who spoke in response to related post on Facebook social media wall of Tijjani Isa, a Kaduna based senior journalist, said what he gathered was that Adedayo’s articles in Tribune had been called for.

He however expressed surprise that Tribune was said to have deleted those articles considered to be offensive and injurious to the President and his supporters.

The DEFENDER’s effort to confirm the deletion angle was fruitless as at press time. However, when asked to know his mindset on the widespread controversies greeting his appointment, Adedayo simply typed to a source within this medium: “It’s well”.

The source on Isa’s wall said: “It’s learnt that this fellow was a former SA to Gov Ajomobi and a bit close to Tinubu. So “they” said, it remaire to be confirmed,” he said.

He however spat fire: “We all know that these people are relentless when it comes to pushing one of their own regardless of what.

“I also learnt that contact was made and presidency had requested for his write ups especially on Tribune newspaper, but guess what? There was the report that Tribune newspaper had deleted all.

“However, copies have already been made and it has been submitted. Same are to be pasted at the APC secretariat and also delivered to the party Chairman.

“Although personally, I did not see the official announcement from the SP office to that effect, I am in full support of these actions taking so far.

“People who worked for the party must be the ones to be considered for appointment not those who did everything possible to denigrate the party and the President like Festus of a man,” he concluded.
