Slovak PM confirms sending S-300 air defence system to Ukraine

Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger confirmed on Friday that the republic sent an S-300 air defence system to Ukraine, Slovakia’s SME newspaper reported on its website.

“Slovakia sent an S-300 system to Ukraine. No other country has helped [Ukraine] in this way so far,” the newspaper quoted the Slovak prime minister as saying.

The Slovak prime minister and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen are currently in Ukraine. They will meet with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.

Earlier on Friday, Slovak media outlets reported that the S-300 system was already in Ukraine. According to their information, it was relocated there secretly.
