The only threat to Obasanjo’s life is his ego thinking he’s life President while his successors are under his control – Sagay
“I am surprised because his allegations are so frivolous. A former president and a retired General should be more serious than that…And he should stop behaving like somebody looking for attention and sympathy when nothing is threatening him. The only threat he has is his mouth, his lack of appreciation of others and his ego which makes him think that he is Nigeria’s president for life and every other persons are under him so he has to control them for life. So, there is no basis for his fear at all. Nobody is threatening him,” he said.
It has been said that there is no threat by anybody not even the government of President Muhammadu Buhari to the life of former President Olusegun Obasanjo except his mouth.
Only on Friday, the Transition Monitoring Group (TMG) told Obasanjo there was nothing the alarm that he raised over a supposed threat to his life by the government which sounded like any real threat existed but charged him to be ready to stand trial if he was indicted by any investigation as culpable in anything.
The latest about that is coming from Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), who Sunday said the claim by former President Olusegun Obasanjo that President Muhammadu Buhari is plotting to frame him up and jail him is a frivolous allegations which nobody should take serious.
Obasanjo at the weekend had raised the alarm that the Buhari-led administration had put his name on its security Watch List, while security agencies were plotting to arrest and put him in detention.
But speaking in a chat with Daily Independent, Sagay who had earlier said heavens will not fall if Obasanjo is prosecuted over the $16 billion Power Project said the former president should stop behaving like someone looking for sympathy from Nigerians.
He said the only threat to Obasanjo’s life is his mouth, lack of respect for his successors and his ego which makes him think he is still the President of Nigeria over 10 years after leaving office.
