Since he ascended the throne of his forefathers as Sariki of the ancient Emirate of Kano, His Royal Highness Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero finally fulfilled his much publicised familiarisation visit to Ilorin Emirate of Kwara State on Thursday August 27, 2020.

Aminu, son of penultimate Emir of Kano Ibrahim Ado Bayero and immediate past Emir of Bichi, embarked on the journey to Ilorin, which was his first outside domain since ascending the throne.
Interesting to note is that Aminu also has Ilorin royalty blood flowing in him being son of an Ilorin Emirate woman who also currently mothers the sitting Emir of Bichi to become first woman in recent history to have two of her sons on the thrones as Kings.
The visit to Ilorin obviously gladdens the hearts of both Emir of Ilorin and his entire Emirate who displayed their happiness in the form of rousing welcome given to his arrival and stay as the visit lasted.
Residents of llorin trooped out in large number to welcome the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero to the Kwara capital.
All major markets in the llorin metropolis were under lock and key, while commercial transport operators in the metropolis suspended business in solidarity with the Emir’s visit.
The Emir of Kano, who arrived through the llorin International Airports at about 2.45p.m in company of some traditional title holders from Kano, was met on arrival by the Emir of llorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari.
Of a spectacular note was the midway reception where convoy of the august visitor visiting in August routinely stopped on his way from airport and first homage was paid to him by very senior Ilorin chiefs.
Ado Bayero’s visit to llorin was part of his familiarisation tours to traditional institutions across the country, after his ascension to the throne, Spokesman to Emir of Ilorin Mallam AbdulAzeez Arowona had earlier said in a statement published by The DEFENDER on Tuesday.
The Emir of Kano was received by the eminent personalities, including Baloguns led by the Balogun Agba of Ilorin, and Balogun Gambari, Alhaji Aliu Adebayo.
Others include traditional title holders who were also present such as Alanguas, Magajis, as well as market men and women.
The palace of the Emir of llorin later hosted some residents of the state, including some eminent indigenes of the llorin emirate.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari and his guest later went into a close door meeting, which lasted over three hours.
Yesterday that is Friday August 28, 2020 witnessed a special Jumat service in honour of the visiting Emir of Kano.
