‘TALK AND DO’: Gov Umo Eno pays unscheduled visit to Uyo school, vows to make education priority

Another “Talk and Do” state leader may have emerged in the person of Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, who took office on May 29, 2023 with sworn commitment to using his powers as Governor of Akwa Ibom State to ensure fair share of resources to education sector development.
The DEFENDER reports that the first Nigeria’s governor to be so tagged “Talk and Do” is Governor of Ondo State, South West Nigeria, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) but Eno, sitting on a bigger though hitherto unsung federating unit now kicking the ground running a greater deal as he has done, is giving prominence to the admirable tag and toga of a leader.
Making Akwa Ibom a better state with school system that will be a model for others was what he meant by his statement Friday, when he said, “Together, we will continue to prioritize education and create a conducive learning environment that empowers our children.”
Governor Eno made this statement during an unscheduled visit to Christ The King Primary School in Uyo to engage with teachers and students by way of reaffirming what he described as the unwavering commitment of his administration to transforming the school into a model primary institution, in accordance with his A.R.I.S.E. Agenda.
He said, “As an administration deeply committed to education, we believe in the transformative power of quality education for our society’s growth and development.
“Today, I made an unscheduled visit to Christ The King Primary School in Uyo to engage with teachers and students, reaffirming our unwavering commitment to transforming the school into a model primary institution aligned with our A.R.I.S.E. Agenda.
“I was pleased to recognize and reward the dedication of the School Headmistress, Mrs. Eme Joseph Bassey, with a well-deserved promotion for her exceptional work in the school,” Governor Umo Eno said via a post on his Facebook page after the schools visit.
