By OUR REPORTER
A yet to be confirmed media report has it that the foreign trip of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, to the Arab nation of United Arab Emirates (UAE) may have started making its yields with some 100 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (MRAPs) that the Nigerian Army is getting set to take delivery of, from Abu Dhabi, the nation’s seat of government.
One of our sources, who could not confirm or tell about the cheering but unconfirmed news, said it is a kind of news that media of Nigeria should be enthusiastic of, about their country of practice, as against carrying destructive news publish or broadcast only to apologise later on a banner claim of “Our Error”.
According to the latest media source, it was said that the 100 MRAPs are coming to Nigeria as takeaways from UAE this time, “Just as we did the last time the President was there, to equip troops in the fight against Boko Haram Terrorists and Bandit Terrorists.
“One of the advantages of negotiating the deal himself with the leaders of UAE as a former soldier and now President, is that Nigeria gets to buy the military vehicles at way-reduced prices that might not be possible without his presence there.”
Effort by The DEFENDER to confirm this from Nigerian Army High Command was not successful as at the time of filing this report.
