The latest development of foiled attempt by Nathaniel Samuel, a Christian and apparently non-Fulani, suspectedly to bomb a Church at the peak of its Sunday service has further justified the narratives that what appears to be resurgence or unending Boko Haram insurgency and banditry in particularly parts of Northern Nigeria is more of the handiwork of mischief makers than meet the eye, The DEFENDER reports.

The Kaduna State Police Command says it has arrested a middle-aged man, named Nathaniel Samuel, with dangerous items suspected to be Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at a Church located at Sabon Tasha area of Chikun Local Government Area of the state.

This was coming just as Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) staged prayer walk across the country praying to God to reveal and shame elements behind killings in the country.

Nathaniel Samuel, the suspect of failed Church bombing on Sunday February 2, 2020.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Yakubu Sabo, said that Samuel was apprehended by security officials at the Living Faith Church during Sunday Church service with a bag containing explosive devices.

Commenting on the scenario, a Kaduna based media practitioner, Tijjani Isa, said: “The will be bomber’s name is Nathaniel Samuel, a Christian minority from Bauchi State.

“Just imagine the scenario his IED went off and killed hundreds of worshippers at a Church in Sabon Tasha, Kaduna. A church where no fewer than 200 people worship every Sunday like today, and they all perish.

“Also imagine the noise in the aftermath of the dastardly act which coincides with the just ended so called “prayer walk”?

“Few hours ago, I posted a poser that the organizers will be shocked. I didn’t know it was going to be that soon. Shame, SHAME to divisive elements…,” the journalist said.
