PRESIDENCY: Support groups springing up for Tambuwal across Nigeria

By BUSOLA SAMUEL

Although he has only said he will begin nationwide consultations having been endorsed by his state’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders to contest for President of Nigeria come 2023, support groups are already springing up across the country asking Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal to go ahead as he will need no further consultations other than what has happened in Sokoto State.

“Yes, he should just go ahead and make his public declaration because, as far as we are concerned, he is the only presidential candidate the PDP can present to us that we will make us vote for PPD, this time,” a strong supporter in Akure, Ondo State capital simply called Olomi, said.

One of the posters mobilising for Tambuwal Presidency 2023 as received by The DEFENDER.

Aminu Tambuwal, Governor of Sokoto State and former number four citizen in the hierarchy of leadership of Nigeria as Speaker of the Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Olomi said, “should now go back to Abuja and take the number one seat. That is our wish and we are determined to work for him to achieve it.

“Forget about the cries of ethnicity. We are not against Yoruba or Igbo becoming President but we are strictly practicing democracy. Since this race has even been thrown open, what it means is that, people are free to choose based on the happiness of their hearts and Tambuwal is the man whose Presidency will make us happy,” he added.

Governor Tambuwal, on Monday, accepted the endorsement of his state’s PDP stakeholders urging him to go ahead and contest for Presidency come 2023. But he said he would begun consultations nationwide.

Olomi, however, warned PDP to watch it this time as a repeat of ‘their failed abracadabra’ they did during the last season party’s presidential primaries should have taught them the lesson why they should not make repeated mistakes in 2023.

He said, “If some people are deceiving Alhaji Atiku Abubakar that President Buhari did not relent until he finally won at fourth attempt, he should go and know that what worked for Buhari was integrity and is still integrity, ability to command respect and gather popular votes. Those qualities are present only in Tambuwal and that will determine the direction of votes come 2023.

“That integrity is found nowhere now except in Tambuwal. So, let Atiku go and support Tambuwal, a more youthful looking, able body candidate with vigour to deliver without blemish of controversial politicism and astute politician with excellent spirit of politics without blood.

“I can assure you, if PDP fails to give this ticket to Aminu Waziri Tambuwal to contest against All Progressives Congress in 2023, it will lose the election.”

Asker how he, as a Yoruba man, will not choose a Yoruba candidate, he said:

“Why won’t I love my fellow Yoruba man in power? But see, we have since moved past politics of hate, religion and ethnicity, many of us in Yoruba Land can tell you that. But like we chose Abiola, because in democracy chances of winning election is paramount, why not if we are sure of winning? But even if you choose the best of APC 2023 hopefuls, Yemi Osinbajo, it is only an Aminu Waziri Tambuwal that can defeat him anywhere in the regions: North, West and East. Believe!

“Don’t let me deceive you, we are many groups across the geopolitical zones, formed into groups and insisting that it is Tambuwal we want,” he said.

In the meantime, there are groups now across the geopolitical zones in the country, which are mobilising underground for the Sokoto State Governor to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari, The DEFENDER can authoritatively report.

Although our source said details of plans are not revealed at initial stage, he provided us with one of the postals to show that the underground mobilisation for the Mutawalle’s Presidential project is real.
