Sultan, Tinubu to grace Federal Varsity Gusau convocation ceremony saturday

*Gov Lawal, Emir of Kaura Namoda, senators, reps, others also expected

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar are to grace the combined third and fourth convocation ceremony of Federal University Gusau, holding on the institution’s campus in the Zamfara State’s capital on Saturday May 25, 2024.

This was announced by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Mu’azu Abubakar Gusau, during a press conference to mark the commencement of the convocation ceremony.

Others are serving Governors including Governor of Zamfara State Dauda Lawal, former governors, traditional rulers including the Emir of Kaura Namoda, HRH Dr. (Major) Sanusi Mohammed Ahmad Asha, members of the National Assembly, among several other diginitiries are also expected to grace the event.

According to the VC, the university is graduating 2,534 students aming whom 43 will be ccom8ng out with first class, 676 with second class upper, 1,737 with second class lower and 78 third class honours.

Professor Mu’azu said all the remaining 15 academic programmes bearing interim accreditation were granted full accreditation by the National University Commission (NUC).

He further said to as encouragement to other students, prize awards would be presented to high performing and deserving of them.

He further disclosed that pre convocation lecture would be delivered by Executive Governor of Katsina malam Dikko Radda while the chairman of the occasion will be professor Abubakar Sani former Director General of Energy commission of Nigeria
