Sultan of Sokoto visits Cross River, lauds Governor Otu on inter-faith harmony

Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has lauded the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu, for his unwavering dedication to promoting inter-faith harmony and peaceful co-existence in the state and Nigeria.

He gave this commendation in Calabar during his official visit attending the inter-faith unity conference of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) as the distinguished guest.

The Sultan had earlier appreciated Governor Otu’s efforts in fostering harmony among different tribes and faiths during the Unity Conference in Calabar.

The royal father commended Otu’s steadfast commitment to unity and peace in the state and country.

Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar emphasized the government’s responsibility to enhance education and counter divisive narratives and tendencies.

The event was greeted by prominent Muslim faithful, and government figures including the Deputy Governor of the state, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey; Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, and a representative of the Obong of Calabar, His Royal Highness Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V, and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
