Sultan of Sokoto, Nigeria, commiserates with Indonesia’s President over earthquake incident

The Sultanate Council, Sokoto, Nigeria says it has received with sadness the devastating earthquake incident that struck in Indonesian city of Cianjur in West Java on Tuesday November 21, 2022 which death toll has now risen to 321.
Through a statement issued in the Palace on Monday, signed by Secretary to the Sultanate Council and Danburam Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’idu Muhammad Maccido, and copy of which was sent to The DEFENDER, the message of Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, sympathising with the world’s most populous Muslim country was passed across.
“It is with great sadness that His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, received the heartache news of the disastrous earthquake that struck the city of Cianjur in West Java, Indonesia on 21st November, 2022.
“I hereby, on behalf of His Eminence, join millions of sympathizers across the world to commiserate with Your Excellency and Hundreds of people who lost their family members, friends while several were injured, scores trapped in the collapsed buildings and many more who lost their homes, belongings and were left without any means of subsistence. Inna Lillahi wa Inna llaihi Raji’un!!.
“This is a moment of extreme grief that the Sultan shares in his heartfelt sympathy offered his special prayers to all those affected by this calamity,
“May the Almighty Allah grant those who lost their lives, the Jannatul Firdausi and those who survived the disaster the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, amen,” Maccido prayed in the royal statement.
