Sultan of Sokoto mourns late Chief of Defence Staff, Ogohi, says he was ‘a very patriotic General’

Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, has reacted to the demise of former Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi (Rtd).
The Sultan’s condolence was contained in a statement issued by his Media Team, dated Sunday June 30, 2024 and circulated to the media on Mondsy.
Admiral Ogohi died in the early hours of Sunday June 30, 2024 at his Abuja home, after being critically sick for weeks.
Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar, who worked with the late CDS as Staff Officer, Sunday evening described the first Nigerian Naval officer to attain the four-star General rank and become the Chief of Defence Staff as a good man.
The Sultan, a retired Army General, said, “I worked very close to him as Staff Officer when he was Chief of Defence Staff. He was a very good man. My condolence to Kogi State and his family.
“By the passing of Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi, Nigeria has lost a very hardworking and patriotic General.”
The Sarkin Musulumi of Nigeria prayed that Allah forgives the departed former Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces and repose his soul in Al-Jannah Firdaos.
