By OUR REPORTER

The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, was a leading dignitary physically present at the Fourth Walimatul Qur’an ceremony of Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi School for Memorization of the Glorious Qur’an, Sokoto Branch, on Saturday.

This year’s ceremony was held at the International Conference Center, Kasarawa, Sokoto.

The DEFENDER reports that 168 students between the age of 15 and 18, who memorized Qur’an, graduated from the school, which was doing the annual event for the fourth time.

The Dahiru Bauchi School, which has four branches within the Sokoto metropolis, graduated 117 male and 51 female students on Saturday 9 October, 2921.

While delivering his speech, the Sultan expressed his gratitude to Almighty Allah and joy for attending the fourth graduation ceremony of the school.

The monarch urged the school teachers and management to keep on doing the good work of producing the kind of students for the development of Islamic religion in the country.

Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar said as leaders, “we will continue to do our best to see that Islamic religion continues to progress nationwide.”

He praised the effort of all that contributed, in one way or the other, towards the success of the programme, even as he further told the graduating students that they should not consider the graduation as their end of quest for Qur’anic memorization.

Rather, the Sultan said, it should be seen as a stepping stone for climbing to greater heights.

Among donations made by the Sultan included copies of Holy Qur’an and clothing materials to the graduands.

Also at the event were Wazirin Sokoto, Prof. Sambo Junaidu, Galadiman Geri Sokoto, Alhaji Attahiru Aliyu Galadanci, Sariki Yaki Binjin Sokoto, Alhaji Kabiru Usman Abdulwahab, Magajin Rafin Sokoto, Alhaji Bello Maiwurno Esq, among others.
