Sultan of Sokoto, a leader like no other – Atayero

By BASHIR ADEFAKA

“This near faultless personality – that he is – makes the Sultan a shining example of a leader, who leads by consultation and, even I learned this from the Islamic tradition, because I am a Christian, where it is said that no one would consult either God or fellow human being on any matter and ends up with regrets. To me, it is one of the reasons the Sultan is a Character Giant both at 65 on earth and 15 on the throne.”

The Co-President, World Religions for Peace Council (CRP), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has been described as a leader like no other in a congratulatory message by Atayero of Aramoko Ekiti, Oba Olusegun Aderemi JP.

The Ekiti monarch made this description while rejoicing with the retired Army General on his 15th coronation anniversary as the 20th Sultan of Sokoto and President-General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA).

Oba Aderemi, who is also the Regional President, OSHAssociation – United Kingdom, made this congratulatory message, exclusively, through a statement to The DEFENDER, in Lagos, in Monday.

He said, “When you have a leader like of Sultan of Sokoto, you need no other. This is because of something that guides and propels his mood in a way that hardly, in 15 years, has anybody been able to find anything that he has done, which is regrettable.

“This near faultless personality – that he is – makes the Sultan a shining example of a leader, who leads by consultation and, even I learned this from the Islamic tradition, because I am a Christian, where it is said that no one would consult either God or fellow human being on any matter and ends up with regrets. To me, it is one of the reasons the Sultan is a Character Giant both at 65 on earth and 15 on the throne.

“On my part, within the short period that I have had opportunity to be close to him, I have had no reason to regret or doubt his sincerity as religious and traditional leader, even he has been exceptional in his disposition as Chairman of the Nigerian Inter-Religious Council (NIREC), where the President, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) works together with him as Co-Chairman.

“I must say that we, traditional rulers of Nigeria across the tribes are good with the Sultan and I have learned a lot being around him at certain times and so, I am confident to say that Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, is a rare blessing to Nigeria.

“This is largely so because, he is one religious leader that has publicly said that there is no place in Qur’an or Bible that teaches inter-ethnic, inter-religious conflict, hate, intolerance and has repeatedly in recent times tasked leaders of the two major religions to expose the bad elements in their respective circles and stop covering them up because, no religion preaches violence,” Atayero Aderemi extolled the virtues of sultan Sa’ad Abubakar.

He then prayed that God will continue to strengthen the Sariki Musulumi of Nigeria, his Usmaniyyah throne of Sokoto Caliphate and all that wish him well in Nigeria and beyond.

Atayero, a successful business magnate-turned traditional ruler, leads in Nigeria, OSHAssociation that is acronym for ‘Occupational Safety and Health Association’, a global intervention that is headquartered in London.
