Security Officer to the Sultan of Sokoto, Aminu Mohammed, is dead, a statement from the Media Team of the Sultan discloses.
According to the statement dated Thursday October 24, 2024, Aminu Mohammed (March 1, 1973 – October 23, 2024) died Wednesday night while with his family and has been buried in accordance with Islamic rites and military traditions Thursday in Abuja.
The Sultan’s Media Team said, “With deep sorrow, we announce the death of Security Officer to Sultan of Sokoto, Aminu Mohammed, a military police warrant officer of the Nigerian Army.
“Mohammed, a very amiable friend and colleague, looked hearty and hale as at Asr prayer time Wednesday until he suddenly took ill and died shortly after about Magrib prayer time in Abuja.”
His surviving eldest daughter, Mufeedah Mohammed, had posted Wednesday night on her father’s WhatsApp status breaking the news of the shocking death saying, “This is Aminu’s daughter. I lost my dad this evening (Wednesday). Help him with your prayers,” she said.
A colleague of the deceased said, “Aminu was still talking with me on phone yesterday (Wednesday) till around Asr, 4pm when he said Oga had asked him to stay behind in Abuja as he would return in three days time. He then said he would go home to relax with his family, only for us to learn at Magrib time that Aminu had died. Innalillahi wa innailayhi rojihuuun!” He said.
“Another colleague and member of the Sultan’s Media Team said, “Aminu and I were working together electronically, all through the principal’s official outings from Gowon’s 90th birthday anniversary lecture in Abuja on Friday October 18 to Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) Inter-Faith Unity Conference in Calabar, Cross River State on Saturday October 19 until they flew back to Abuja. He was full of life communicating with me,” he said.
WO (MP) Aminu Mohammed was buried Thursday morning in Abuja in accordance with Islamic rites and military traditions.
Born on March 1, 1973 in Dass, Dass Local Government of Bauchi State, Aminu Mohammed served his fatherland through the Nigerian Army Military Police from where he was deployed as security officer to the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar.
“We, on the Media Team of Sultan, feel the sorrow as we join His Eminence Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, the Nigerian Army, Bauchi State people and immediate family in mourning our late friend and colleague, Aminu Mohammed.
“May Allah accept him and repose his gentle soul in Al-Jannah Firdaos, Amiin,” the statement from Media Team of Sultan of Sokoto announced on Thursday October 24, 2024.
