SP Hundeyin is Lagos Police Command’s Spokesman
*AIG Hadejia commends CP Alabi, asks Hundeyin to copy good example of Mba, Adejobi, Ajisebutu

The Lagos State Police Command has announced the appointment of new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the person of yet another another fine officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, a Superintendent of Police (SP).
In a statement issued, signed by DSP Kuti Stephen, the Admin officer in the Office of the PPRO Lagos Police Command, dated 16th March, 2022 and copy of which was obtained by The DEFENDER, SP Hundeyin’s appointment was said to have been informed by the redeployment of Adekunle Ajisebutu, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).
The statement read: “A new Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has assumed duty at the Lagos State Police Command.
“SP Hundeyin holds a BA (Hons) in English Language from the Lagos State University and an MSc in Legal Criminology & Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan. He also holds a Certificate in Civil-Military Coordination from the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre, Jaji, Kaduna State. He is equally an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).
“Hundeyin was one-time PPRO at the Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan Lagos and was a member of the Nigerian contingent to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan (UNAMID) in 2020. Until his recent appointment, he was the Administration Officer at the Force Public Relations Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja,” Kuti said in the Wednesday’s statement.
At a police forum on Thursday, the immediate past PPRO, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu while attesting to the new development, said:
“Good morning all. I thank you for the immense support and cooperation you gave me while I was the State PPRO. Please, kindly extend the same or more support and cooperation to the new PPRO to enable him succeed in office. Thanks and God bless,” CSP Ajisebutu said.
In the meantime, a message from the President, Advisory Board of The DEFENDER, AIG Mu’azu Idris Hadejia (Rtd), while congratulating the Lagos State Police Command for its landmarks particularly producing shining PPROs for Nigeria, has noted the good work of the new Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Abiodun Alabi, and urged his image maker and spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, who has just taken over, to borrow good examples from his predecessors, particularly CP Frank Mba, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi and CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, in addition to his own qualities as a young police officer.
According to the exclusive message by management of Defender Media Limited Thursday, AIG Hadejia, who was Commissioner of Police Works, Forces Headquarters Annex Obalende, Lagos, before he was transfered to Force Headquarters Abuja as Assistant Inspector General of Police Works before his retirement, will want to see a smoother security not only in Lagos but across Nigeria.
“Since Journalism is better practiced in situation of peace, we urge fellow media colleagues to continue to cooperate with security and intelligence communities, the police, the DSS, the armed forces and others for us to achieve good results of having a great, nation that is safe for all,” the message said.
