The Governor of Homs province has said that the US military strike on a Syrian airbase has caused several deaths.
According to the governor who is at Shayrat base, parts of the base are on fire and some of the wounded were suffering from burns.
“It will take some time to determine the extent of the damages,” he said.
Meanwhile, Talal Barazi told AFP by telephone that there are martyrs, but the number either of the martyrs or of the wounded are not yet certain, condemning all action targeting Syrian military bases
“Of course we condemn this” Barazi said.
He also added that the forces present at the base are providing important support in the battle against the Islamic State group in the Palmyra region.
