The residents of Gusau, Zamfara State, have expressed joy and satisfaction over the restoration of network services in the metropolis after over a month they were shutdown, to aid the fight against bandits.

The restoration was announced Friday by the state Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Ibrahim Dosara, in a special announcement aired on state owned radio stations.

He said the measures taken by the state government had yielded positive response as over 2,000 informants were arrested by the security agencies as a result of the blocked network services.

He further said the curfew imposed on the state capital had been relaxed and that Gusau Central would now be open for business.

Dosara called on the people to continue to work and support all the measures being taken by government to ensure compliance for better results.

He said the restoration of network services would only be limited to Gusau metropolis as other local governments would be reviewed as the security situation continues to improve.

He called on the people to continue to support government policies and programs aimed at addressing insecurity in the state.
